"The Frozen Savoury Rice Mix product is uncooked and frozen and so requires cooking before consumption".

Countdown has voluntarily withdrawn one if its frozen vegetable Bell Farms' products after a recall in Australia.

It said Listeria is easily killed through cooking - which would've been required for the frozen rice.

Aldi, Lidl, Iceland, Sainsbury's, Tesco, and Waitrose have recalled frozen vegetable packages, including packets of sweetcorn and mixed vegetables, because they could contain listeria monocytogenes, which can cause listeriosis.

This Greenyard Factory has been implicated as the potential source of a Listeria outbreak in Europe.

Listeriosis is an illness caused by eating contaminated food and can grow in food at refrigeration temperatures.

The European outbreak of listeria in corn and possibly other frozen vegetables has been ongoing since 2015, according to the European Food Safety Authority.

Police issue stark Novichok warning as nerve agent source hunt continues
Britain and its allies blamed Russia for the attack on the Skripals, prompting a major Western expulsion of Russian diplomats. Peskov added that such attacks present a danger not only inside the United Kingdom , but also in Europe as a whole.

Around 150 people are hospitalised and about 15 die each year due to listeria infection.

The outbreak was linked to Enterprise facilities in Polokwane and Germiston which produced cold meats, including Woolworths' beloved Salami sticks.

Symptoms are similar to the flu and include a high fever, chills, feeling or being sick, and diarrhoea.

Woolworths said it proactively manages and prevents microbial contamination of food, and has very strict protocols in place.

Meanwhile, the UK's Food Standards Agency says consumers who have bought any of the affected products should not eat them.

The food company said in a statement that food safety is of critical importance to Woolworths and that they take all issues regarding the production of their food extremely seriously.
