While Fury showboated his way through the contest against an opponent whom he out-weighed by four and a half stone and towered over by a foot, the only real aggression was shown by fans engaging in a mid-bout brawl outside the ring.

Whether he'd win or lose, one would imagine that Tony Bellew would nearly certainly put up a better fight against Tyson Fury than Sefer Seferi.

"I did a bit of dancing, threw a couple of punches and it was just about getting back to being under the lights again - it's been a long time", he added.

Fighting for the first time since claiming the world heavyweight title from Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015, Fury secured a victorious return when Seferi retired on his stool at the end of the round. The caliber of opponents will keep on rising.

Fury (26-0, 19 KO) is next scheduled to fight on August 18 in Belfast against an opponent yet to be named. Fury roared from the stage but there was not even a hint of tension in the air as he joked with Seferi about the size difference.

"I could have knocked him out in the first round but what good would that have done me?"

Fury, 29, did not take his task totally seriously early on and was told off by referee Phil Edwards for playing to the crowd, but the English boxer was pleased it was not a short fight after two years and seven months out of action. Seferi is 39, has not boxed at an elite level, was 7 inches smaller and almost 70 pounds lighter than Fury.

Fury is most likely poking fun at his doping and cocaine issues in the last two years, which saw the former unified champion admit to drug use and accept a back-dated suspension.

Fury's English rival Anthony Joshua, the WBA-IBF-WBO champion, and American Deontay Wilder, the WBC champion, remain distant targets for Fury, whose priority now will be to build up some momentum against tougher opponents.
