French President Emmanuel Macron said Friday that "things were moving forward" at a G7 summit in Canada as he held talks with Donald Trump that focused on the U.S. president's decision to slap tariffs on America's allies.

He contrasted Trudeau's behavior during the meetings, which he characterized as "so meek and mild" with him calling the tariffs "kind of insulting" and saying Canada "will not be pushed around" after the president left. "He did a great disservice to the whole G7", Kudlow said.

Trump called Trudeau "very dishonest and weak" on Twitter on Saturday and then sent Kudlow and trade adviser Peter Navarro to hammer the message home on Sunday morning news shows in an extraordinary assault on a close US ally and neighbour.

Trump tweeted Saturday that he had instructed his representatives not to sign a communique between the seven nations that make up the group just after host Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced all countries had agreed to it. That was a part of Trudeau's mistake.

"Very dishonest [and] weak", Trump tweeted.

Navarro added that while these were his own words, they reflected the "the sentiment that was on Air Force One".

Navarro wasn't the only top Trump adviser to use his appearance on a Sunday talk show to take pot-shots at Trudeau for daring to respond to the president's tariffs.

Trump refused to even attend a scheduled session on climate change, leaving the G6 to advance the agenda without him.

In an "extraordinary" exchange between the leaders on Friday, Trump repeated a list of grievances about USA trade, mainly with the European Union and Canada, a French presidency official told reporters.

"Canada does not conduct its diplomacy through ad hominem attacks. and we refrain particularly from ad hominem attacks when it comes from a close ally", Freeland told reporters in Quebec City on Sunday.

Zionist Troops Kill Palestinian Youth in West Bank Village Raid
According to the Israeli army, 11 Palestinians were rounded up in overnight raids carried out across the West Bank. President Donald Trump announced his decision to relocate the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Kudlow also insisted that Trudeau's remarks were created to make America look weak as Trump flies to Singapore for his meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

"President Trump played that process in good faith", Kudlow said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday.

Kudlow accused Trudeau of "pouring collateral damage" on the high-stakes talks with North Korea. "And anyone who leaves and turns their back on them shows their inconsistency", the palace said.

Yet after leaving the summit, Mr Trump tweeted that he would instruct United States officials not to endorse the G7 statement, after objecting to comments from summit host Mr Trudeau.

This year's G7 summit had been dubbed "G6-plus-1" by many, referring to United States isolation over issues including trade and the Iran nuclear deal.

Trump as a result did not sign onto the joint statement concluding the meeting.

European members were expressing solidarity with Trudeau the day after Trump's Twitter blast. "Trudeau stuck our president in the back and that will not stand".

Speaking on Saturday during a rare solo news conference, Trump said he pressed for the G-7 countries to eliminate all tariffs, trade barriers and subsidies in their trading practices.

And he said his recent imposition of punishing steel and aluminum tariffs was based on legitimate national security concerns, rebuffing the concerns of allies.
