Georgy Cohen of Somerville, Mass., posted a photo of the colorful sign hanging in her young daughter's classroom Wednesday.

"Lockdown, lockdown, lock the door".

Shut off the lights, say no more.

Wait until it's safe inside.

One Twitter user says the lyrics go along to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

As of Thursday morning, it had been shared more than 13,000 times, as people discussed measures that have to be taken to help protect children in the wake of school shootings across the country, including recent massacres in Santa Fe, Texas, and Florida.

As Rick Healey and his wife were taking a tour of the kindergarten class where their 5-year-old girl will go to school next fall, they came across a poem that stopped them in their tracks.

"This sort of thing really makes me question raising my kids in the United States", tweeted one San Francisco-based father.

While the study did not look at the potential reasons why that might be, Schuchat offered a possible explanation. The majority of suicide victims the CDC tracked in 2015-16 had no previously diagnosed mental health condition.

Not really knowing what was going to happen after what happened in July. "It's going to take a really good effort to get it done". Golden Knights and Capitals fans alike packed Toshiba Plaza outside T-Mobile Arena for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final .

Cohen also revealed in the thread that her child had already been taught lockdown drills in pre-kindergarten classes.

In a joint statement to The Post, Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone and Somerville Public Schools Superintendent Mary Skipper said the poster reflects the reality for students across the country.

Georgy Cohen, a Boston creative director, shared the image on Twitter this morning.

"I'm only going to add one more comment to this: the school is doing exactly what they need to be doing, and I am glad for it". "To see that absurdity and horror and have that sick feeling in your stomach is important. Stay outraged. And if it gets somebody to do something - to give money to an organisation or to call their representatives ... then great, I think that that's important".

They agreed with Cohen's initial assessment of the circumstances, calling the need for lockdowns "jarring" for students, educators, and families.

With a spate of school shootings this year, teachers, students and parents alike have expressed fear and worry over safety issues in the institutions.

Not everyone agrees, and her post is sparking heated conversations online about the appropriate way to prepare young kids for the worst.
