"In March of 2018, William McFarland pled guilty to defrauding investors and vendors of the Fyre Festival, but it is apparent that he did not stop there", William F. Sweeney Jr., FBI assistant director-in-charge, said in a statement Tuesday.

Manhattan federal prosecutors say McFarland, 26, began running the ticket scheme in late 2017 - just months after his June 2017 arrest for defrauding investors of his Fyre Media company out of $24 million.

Billy McFarland, center, accompanied by his attorney Randall Jackson, left, leaves federal court after pleading guilty to wire fraud charges, Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in NY. This time, McFarland is charged with selling fake tickets to mega-festivals and events.

Because of the new complaint, the government has asked the judge in McFarland's other criminal case - the one he pled guilty to in March - to suspend the sentencing scheduled for next week until it can amend its pre-sentencing report.

McFarland sold almost $100,000 worth of fraudulent tickets to approximately 15 customers through a company he controlled called NYC VIP Access, according to federal prosecutors.

The crooked promoter of the disastrous Fyre Festival went back to defrauding people after he was arrested past year - and his newest victims include angry attendees of his infamously shoddy 2017 music festival, prosecutors said on Tuesday.

McFarland allegedly solicited Fyre Fest attendees to purchase "tickets" from the company.

She said prosecutors were considering additional charges including bank fraud and an identity theft charge that would carry a mandatory two-year prison sentence upon conviction. He tricked at least 15 people into buying the nonexistent tickets. Tickets for the event cost thousands of dollars, but when attendees arrived they found poorly built tents, a lack of food and clean water and an insufficient number of public toilets.
