"But Durmaz is fully behind the complaints", Sjostrand said via a statement.

Jimmy Durmaz and his fellow Sweden players took a strong stand against racism after the Swedish FA complained to police about a storm of racial hatred and threats aimed at the winger following his late mistake against Germany on Saturday.

The squad then joined Durmaz in a collective shout of "F*** racism!" before applauding and jogging off to begin their training session.

"But to be called a suicide bomber and to say you will kill me and my children is completely unacceptable".

Coach Janne Andersson said he stood behind Durmaz's statement "100 per cent", and said the squad would now concentrate on Wednesday's match against Mexico.

"Overall, we once again had phases where we played really well and didn't use our chances".

Sweden's Jimmy Durmaz (number 21) looks dejected after Sweden's 1-2 defeat to Germany in a FIFA World Cup group stages match at the Fisht Stadium in Sochi, Russia, June 23, 2018.

Durmaz's teammate John Guidetti hit out at those responsible for the racist posts. "At this World Cup, a lot of goals have come at the end (of games) and today luck was on our side. There were a lot of feelings in the heat of the moment".

Kroos curled in a superb strike from an indirect free kick to grab the three points for the four-times world champions who are now level with Sweden in Group F on three points and behind Mexico who have six. "Obviously we're angry and sad but we need to reload and do it in the next game".
