While Alvarez stressed that this was "pure speculation", he pointed out the fact WWE's standard statement announcing Cass' release did not come with the usual well wishes in one's future endeavors, hinting at an acrimonious departure for the 30-year-old wrestler.

Multiple insider sources are telling Sports Illustrated that the reason Big Cass was sacked by WWE was due to his personal conduct while heavily drinking on the recent European tour, and being intoxicated in public.

In May, Pro Wrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin reported that Big Cass received heat backstage from WWE officials for going off the script by beating up a local talent who was used to parody Daniel Bryan. Reportedly, Cass was not supposed to hit the local competitor with a "Big Boot" and punch him repeatedly, with Vince McMahon even denying him permission from doing this.

Sports Illustrated is claiming that Cass was drinking for the majority of the recent European tour and he had "attitude issues when drunk". Being intoxicated in public is one of the underlying reasons the WWE office was down on Cass.

- As noted, fans at Friday's WWE live event in Peoria, IL were upset as there was no women's match and no appearance by Braun Strowman, despite being advertised.

Big Cass came back to WWE television on Smackdown and began a feud with Daniel Bryan immediately then lost two pay-per-view matches to Bryan including a match at Sunday's Money in the Bank.

I don't think we've heard the last of this story, so stay tuned.
