SpotMini is an advanced four-legged robot from Boston Dynamics, who's made quite a name for themselves over the years by posting videos of their robots running around, autonomously following instructions while often being cruelly hit with sticks to determine how well they can handle obstacles.

The SpotMini now comes with a terrifying appendage, one so incredibly versatile that the feared robot apocalypse now seems more "when" than "if". Atlas, the name given to this particular robot, can be seen jogging through a park before jumping over a log easily in a new video. The video's title Hey buddy, can you give me a hand? hints heavily at what's coming, with the latest SpotMini appearing in shot with that extendable appendage. But it's not just the arm that impresses, it's also the incredibly fluid and lifelike movement of the SpotMini.

He didn't say how much the SpotMini will cost. The company is going to work with its manufacturing partners to increase the production of the robot before it starts selling the SpotMini in 2019. It can operate for about 90 minutes on a charge. One of its more intriguing creations is the SpotMini robot which kind of looks like a dog. While there's no word yet on price, the company has said that the SpotMini prototype was 10 times less expensive than its older sibling.
