During its I/O developers conference this year, Google revealed its voice-based digital assistant using artificial intelligence "Duplex" that has the capability to speak in as close to a human voice as possible, male or female. The human sounding digital assistant astonished everyone, while it raised some questions on the ethics as well.

An array of comments at Twitter contended there was an ethical breach to not letting people know they were conversing with software. Duplex will work in closed domains where the structure of the conversations is more or less, pre-defined, like making a hotel reservation.

With its latest advancement in AI, Google has bridged the gap between illusion and reality even further in its latest I/O conference on Tuesday.

Google I/O 2018 keynote was filled with some pretty cool announcements related to Assistant and AI, and one of the moments that really amazed the audience and people watching from home was that Assistant could now make phone calls on your behalf. Moreover, it is created to talk with pauses, understands the language and responds accordingly.
