Danica Patrick's racing career is coming to an end today, as she's racing in the Indy 500, which will mark the last event of her career.

Patrick, 36, ended her 14-year racing career with a crash on Lap 68 of the 200-lap race.

Danica Patrick's final Indianapolis 500 ended like her final Daytona 500.

An IndyCar series champion and four times runner-up, Power delivered a cool, calculated drive on a sizzling hot day to reach Victory Lane, becoming the first Australian to win the famed race and giving owner Roger Penske his 17th Indy 500 success.

Announcing last November that she would retire, Patrick planned to bring down the curtain on her career with the "Danica double", contesting the Daytona and Indy 500s.

Gareth Bale is a Wales legend says Ryan Giggs
However, his second mistake, when he fumbled Gareth Bale's shot over the line, was something I don't think he can recover from. Salah was picture after the match, and of course it was with Salt Bae. "It wasn't the ideal time".

"I'm a little sad", Patrick said. She has come to win.

"Yeah, it's an entire career", she said, "but what really launched it was this". "I was like, "I don't remember this". Patrick's hair started blowing in the wind, turning her pose into an impromptu photo-shoot - likely her last one in a firesuit. Instead, she plans to spend time on her burgeoning business empire and with her boyfriend, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Bourdais had led at least one lap in every race this season, and led for the first time in his career at Indianapolis. And those high temperatures, along with the new aero kits used by cars this season, appeared to have a significant impact on the race, limiting passing and making the cars hard to control.

Patrick was a polarizing figure in racing, and that increased exponentially when she moved from IndyCar to NASCAR beginning in 2010.

In IndyCar, she became the first woman to lead the Indianapolis 500 in her first appearance in the race in 2005. "I had all my people around me, so I was in good spirits". She was surrounded by autograph-seekers all month, and she got one of the loudest ovations during driver introductions Sunday. But he had just one top-three finish at this race before Sunday, and he screamed after exiting his auto, mouthing "I can't believe it" before dousing his head in milk. "But I'm grateful for all of it. Wish I could have finished stronger". "It still was a lot of great memories this month, a lot of great moments this year".
