The Guardian reports that a former Cambridge Analytica business development director, Brittany Kaiser, said that the firm provided data analysis for Leave.EU.

Soon after the news broke that Cambridge Analytica shared personal information of millions of Facebook users to political parties for a targeted campaign in the U.S. presidential elections 2016, Facebook's senior executives had been summoned to testify before the committee members Greg Walden and Frank Pallone. Since these claims have spread throughout multiple news sources, a movement called #DeleteFacebook has been backed by celebrities such as Cher and Jim Carrey, and has been spreading like wildfire over Twitter. "More importantly, it was a breach of the trust people place in Facebook to protect their data when they share it", the company said. "But I think this was clearly a mistake in retrospect", Mr Zuckerberg told CNN. "We do know all the apps that registered for Facebook, and all the people who were on Facebook who registered for those apps, and have a log of the different data requests that the developers made". And now, a movement for users to quit Facebook is gathering steam. Both Facebook and Cambridge Analytica are named as defendants. Zuckerberg's proposed solution is to give power to the Facebook community, "What I would really like to do is find a way to get our policies set in a way that reflects the values of the community, so I am not the one making those decisions", Zuckerberg said.

In 2014, to prevent abusive apps, we announced that we were changing the entire platform to dramatically limit the data apps could access.

"We're pushing Facebook to improve its privacy practices not just because of its 2 billion users, but also for the health of the internet broadly".

Asked about the Trump administration's concern over the data use and getting answers from Facebook, White House legislative director Marc Short said it was up to the company and Congress to work together in the wake of the revelations. Facebook shares fell on Friday, although not at the pace of earlier in the week. We're also working with regulators as they investigate what happened. He said Facebook will ban any developer that does not agree to a thorough audit and take steps to help users understand which apps they've allowed access to their data.

US lawmakers formally ask Facebook CEO to testify on user data
In an interview with Recode , Zuckerberg said he was open to testifying before Congress on the matter "if I'm the right [person]". In order to do that, Facebook allows you to download most of the information you've uploaded.

Researchers at Stanford and Cambridge University's Psychometrics Center used Facebook "likes" to create such a model by scoring a person's openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism.

Yesterday, Facebook executives were still saying sorry. Facebook users are anxious, angry and threatening to leave the social network. That includes people whose data Kogan misused here as well.

Facebook's representatives left "many questions" unanswered during a staff-level briefing by company officials Wednesday, panel chairman Greg Walden and its top Democrat Frank Pallone said in the statement.

Meanwhile, Facebook representatives, including Deputy Chief Privacy Officer Rob Sherman, met US congressional staff for almost two hours on Wednesday.
