The revised 13.3-incher is reportedly aiming for a price tag around the "same level as that of the existing MacBook Air or slightly higher".

All this is speculation, of course, but we've heard previous rumors that Apple will be offering a new entry-level 13-inch MacBook, which could even potentially replace the MacBook Air.

A report by Digitimes reveals that Apple is indeed looking to bring back the "affordable" MacBook after having focused on its premium MacBook Pro variants for the past couple of years.

However Apple does love to market its Retina displays so it would be odd that the new MacBook Air would sport anything less, but we guess we'll just have to wait and see.

DigiTimes is also claiming that the laptop will cost the same as the current MacBook Air, which is priced at $999, or possibly higher, and that its display resolution will be similar to Apple's 13.3-inch MacBook Pro, which is at 2,560-x1,600.

Scuffles in Hong Kong at key vote for democrats
The districts lost to the pro-Beijing camp were West Kowloon and the architectural sector, reports Hong Kong Free Press . That means the democrats have bolstered their ability to block some important bills, which require two thirds to pass.

However, the MacBook Air 2018 will come with LG-made Retina Displays, thus, we should expect high-quality displays. According to the report, the 13-inch MacBook will feature a 2560×1600 panel, with a 226 PPI density - the same as the 13-inch MacBook Pro.

LG Display starts mass production of display panels for the new laptop in April.

Quanta will produce 70% of the units of the new MacBook Air 2018, while Foxconn will produce 30% of them, and the new laptop should be announced at WWDC 2018 in June. Apple is expected to release the new 9.7-inch iPad in the second quarter of 2018, and the new iPad Pro in the second half of the year.

DigiTimes Research senior analyst Jim Hsiao expects shipments of the new MacBook to only reach about two thirds of Apple's expectations in 2018.

"In other supply chain news it's noted that Apple is to release a new cheap 9.7" iPad in Q2 and a new iPad Pro in the second half of the year.
