Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker will replace injured New York Knicks big man Kristaps Porzingis on Team LeBron in the All-Star Game later this month, the National Basketball Association announced Thursday.

It has also been announced that Drummond will take Porzingis' place in the All-Star Skills Challenge. He is averaging 22.6 points and 5.8 assists.

Walker, 27, will make his second consecutive All-Star appearance after reaching the stage for the first time last season. For the season, the Hornets are 17.4 points per 100 possessions better when Walker is on the court than when he is off the court, the highest mark among all qualifying NBA players, according to NBA.com/Stats.

The 6-1 Walker has scored at least 40 points in a game three times this season, one of eight National Basketball Association players to do so.

Porzingis was diagnosed with an ACL tear after injuring himself in Tuesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Instead of the Eastern Conference against the Western Conference, All-Stars Stephen Curry and LeBron James were chosen as captains, and chose teams in a pick-up game fashion.

Walker's logical competition for this spot was probably the Philadelphia 76ers' Ben Simmons, who is averaging 16.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.2 assists. Although, he finished just outside the top two in Eastern backcourt voting, the people spoke by voting him third in Eastern backcourt voting and the Sixers rookie placed sixth among players in voting.
