Dijon, who are 11th in the table, are without a win in their past four games.

Brazil superstar Neymar bagged four goals as Paris Saint-Germain humiliated Dijon 8-0 in a Ligue 1 encounter on Wednesday evening.

Edinson Cavani then equalled Zlatan Ibrahimovic's club record with his 156th goal for the club, before Neymar grabbed his first of the night just before half-time.

Angel Di Maria sent Unai Emery's charges ahead in the fourth minute with a sumptuous strike from outside the box that found the top corner, 1-0.

Three minutes before the break, Neymar curled a superb free kick past Baptiste Reynet as PSG continued to pile the pressure. By the close of business against Dijon, it was clear that he was just fine.

And, with Dijon unable to cope with the hosts' attacking fluency, Cavani then headed in his 156th goal for the club to draw level with Ibrahimovic as PSG's top goalscorer in all competitions, Di Maria providing the ideal cross from the right.

The Brazilian would not have to wait much longer for his second goal of the night, though, as he stroked home a rebound from inside the box to make it 5-0.

It was already a stunning team move from PSG before the Brazilian picked the ball up on the left flank just inside the Dijon half, and Neymar then embarked on a brilliant solo run which saw him beat five players before drilling a low strike in from just outside the area.

Mbappe got amongst the goals when he struck in the 77th minute to give PSG a 7-0 lead before Neymar completed the rout by netting his fourth goal to end the game 8-0.

PSG now lead the table by 11 points over second-placed Lyon - who they meet on Sunday.

The Argentine added his fifth Ligue 1 goal of the season after 15 minutes, prodding in from a yard out with Neymar's deft chip over Reynet seemingly drifting narrowly wide, Giovani Lo Celso having won back possession deep in Dijon territory.
