On Wednesday while addressing the gathering at Mall Road in Lahore wherein the Joint Opposition held a protest against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government, Imran Khan cursed upon the Parliament which, according to him, paved the way for a disqualified person to head a party by amending the Constitution.

Khan, the founder and leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, said meeting Trump would be unavoidable though.

"I watched on the television how the police opened fire at unarmed [PAT] protesters", he said.

Many Pakistanis were insulted after Trump on New Year's Day in a Twitter posting accused Islamabad of taking $33 billion in aid over the past 15 years while offering back "nothing but lies & deceit".

He, however, said despite the feeling, he would meet him, reports Pakistan's Dawn.

"You can not come to power with tirades against the parliament", he thundered.

On Sheikh Rasheed's advise to resign from the National Assembly seat, Imran said, "I would consult with my party and then make a decision".

Should he become Pakistan's prime minister, Khan said "yes we would talk", referring to Trump, but added that the USA dishonours the memory of thousands of Pakistan's soldiers who died battling insurgents in its tribal regions, as well as that of tens of thousands of Pakistanis who died in terrorist attacks.

"Pakistan had nothing to do with it", he said, adding that he supported co-operation with the United States but not co-opting Pakistan's military into a ground battle with its own people in the tribal regions that border Afghanistan and where Afghan insurgents hide. Firstly, they have no right to interfere in the politics of Pakistan.

The minister said that they went beyond limits to remain in power but there are some PTI members who disagreed with their leadership expressed their non-confidence on it.
