BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, on Saturday, asked party colleagues and Ministers to "speak up for democracy" similar to the four Supreme Court judges who had come out against the Chief Justice of India on Friday.
Rahul also came out in support of the four Supreme Court judges who raised "extremely important" points over the functioning of the apex court. Supreme Court judges are saying the court is not in order.
Venugopal, however, admitted that the accusations made by the four sitting apex court judges openly before the electronic media will seriously affect public confidence in the court.
Citing the four judges' comments that sensitive cases were assigned by the Chief Justice of India to particular benches, he said it must be clarified which were these cases. They have mentioned that there is a threat to democracy.
Referring to the case of special CBI judge Loya, which is believed to have triggered the revolt in the Supreme Court, Rahul said it called for proper investigation by an independent SIT. It needs to be investigated properly.
