Foster was the second of two first-round picks (No. 31 overall) by the 49ers in last year's draft and started 10 games while registering 72 combined tackles and a pass defensed. The former Alabama product played in 10 games a year ago with San Francisco, still finishing second on the team with 59 tackles.

A first round pick in last year's National Football League draft, Foster is now widely viewed as one of the NFL's most promising young defensive players. He then failed a mandatory drug test, which came back as dilute and, per league rules, had to be treated as positive. He finished his rookie season with 59 tackles. It is unclear if there will be ramifications for him with the team.
